Lana & Ben’s Wedding Oulton Hall Leeds West Yorkshire

An excited bride by the name of Lana emailed me enquiring about wedding photography at Oulton Hall in Leeds.  We arranged a meeting when Lana and her fiancé, Ben, could meet with me and talk about wedding photography.  At our meeting, we had a very friendly chat about their special day and what I could offer her.  They were very interested in my Silver package which includes an A3 wedding album and HD images on USB.

After the meeting, they contacted me within a couple of days and said that they would really like to have me as their wedding photographer and in order to secure the date, they paid a deposit very promptly.

One month before the wedding, we had a pre-wedding meeting at Oulton Hall and together we went through all the locations and possibilities for capturing those special wedding photographs.  The wedding being in November meant that we were unable to take photographs outside however, we could take some bride and groom photographs at night using off-camera flash and although this time of year is very challenging due to low light, I use Nikon D5 cameras which are considered to be the best cameras for low light photography.

At the meeting, I drew up a plan of action for myself and this ensured that the bride and groom could rest easy as they knew what I would be photographing during the day.  Although during wedding photography the vast majority of the photographs are candid/unposed, then it is a ritual to have formal photographs taken as especially the grandparents like to have, on their mantlepiece, the so-called traditional photographs.  I always work with the bride and groom to produce a list of guests for the formal photographs to ensure no-one gets ‘left out’.  As I was producing a wedding album for the couple, I like to produce a visual diary of the day starting off with photographs of the frippery (dress, shoes, jewellery) followed by ‘getting ready’ photographs, the ceremony, signing of the register, formal family photographs, lots of candid photographs during the wedding breakfast and dancing and of course, during the course of the day, some romantic bride and groom photographs.

If you click here, you can view the wedding album which I produced for them.

Talking about Oulton Hall, this is a wonderful venue in which I have had the pleasure of capturing many weddings.
