There is something undeniably magical about a Yorkshire countryside wedding, and Olivia and Rob’s spectacular day at Wood Hall Hotel & Spa was no exception. Nestled just outside Wetherby and a short drive from Leeds, this historic Grade II listed Georgian country house provided the ultimate fairytale backdrop for a truly unforgettable celebration.

As a Leeds wedding photographer, I am incredibly spoiled for choice when it comes to beautiful venues, but Wood Hall always holds a special place in my heart. With its sweeping, tree-lined driveway, dramatic pillared entrance, and panoramic views stretching across the Wharfe Valley, it is a photographer’s absolute dream.

Here is a glimpse into how Olivia and Rob celebrated their love story in the heart of West Yorkshire.

Bridal Prep & Elegant Details

The day began in one of Wood Hall’s luxurious, light-filled bridal suites. The atmosphere was a perfect blend of high energy, laughter, and a few emotional tears as Olivia, surrounded by her bridesmaids, stepped into her stunning gown.

Capturing the quiet, candid moments before a ceremony is always one of my favourite parts of the day. The soft, natural light streaming through the massive Georgian sash windows beautifully highlighted the intricate details of Olivia’s dress, her elegant floral arrangements, and the sheer anticipation in the room. Meanwhile, Rob and his groomsmen were downstairs putting the final touches on their sharp suits, looking relaxed and ready for the main event.

A Romantic Ceremony in the Vavasour Suite

Olivia and Rob chose the magnificent Vavasour Suite for their civil ceremony. With its grand high ceilings, striking chandeliers, and elegant neutral decor, the room felt intimate yet incredibly majestic.

As Olivia walked down the aisle, Rob’s reaction said it all—pure emotion. The ceremony was filled with personal touches, meaningful glances, and plenty of smiles from their closest family and friends. After exchanging vows and rings, the newlyweds made their way back up the aisle as husband and wife to a spectacular shower of confetti at the grand front steps.

Golden Hour Portraits & 100 Acres of Yorkshire Countryside

Following a sun-drenched drinks reception on the terrace with plenty of champagne and laughter, we slipped away for some couple portraits. One of the biggest perks of being a wedding photographer at Wood Hall Wetherby is having access to over 100 acres of pristine lawns, hidden woodlands, and the beautifully manicured Italian Gardens.

Olivia and Rob were a complete joy to photograph—completely natural, wrapped up in each other, and simply glowing with happiness. We took a stroll through the trellised rose gardens, using the endless views of the Yorkshire landscape to frame their portraits. The historic architecture of the house, combined with the rolling hills beyond, gave their gallery a timeless, classic romance.

Speeches, Fine Dining, and Dancing the Night Away

The celebration then moved back inside for a sumptuous wedding breakfast prepared by Wood Hall’s award-winning kitchen. The speeches were an absolute highlight—hilarious stories from the best man, heartfelt words from the father of the bride, and a deeply moving speech from Rob that left half the room reaching for tissues.

As evening fell, the energy shifted perfectly. Olivia and Rob hit the dance floor for a beautiful first dance before their guests swarmed the floor to join them, kicking off a night of pure, unadulterated celebration.
