There is an undeniable magic to a city centre wedding, especially when it unfolds within the historic walls of The Queens Hotel in Leeds. For Liz and James, their special day was a masterclass in classic style, blending the hotel’s iconic Art Deco glamour with a celebration that was deeply personal and full of joy.

The Grand Entrance

From the moment Liz stepped onto the hotel’s famous grand staircase, the tone was set. Dressed in a stunning off-the-shoulder satin gown, she looked every bit the Hollywood star against the backdrop of the hotel’s vintage architecture. As a Leeds wedding photographer, I am always inspired by how the light play and geometric lines of The Queens provide such a sophisticated canvas for bridal portraits.

After a beautiful ceremony filled with a vibrant confetti exit, we headed back to the hotel to capture some intimate moments. One of my favorite shots of the day features the newlyweds tucked away in the hotel’s signature gold-trimmed elevators—a perfect nod to the venue’s 1930s heritage.

Whether posing under the “Queens Hotel” neon sign or sharing a quiet moment on the red carpet, Liz and James brought a modern romance to this historic landmark.

A Night to Remember

The celebration moved into the ballroom, where the navy and gold theme came to life—right down to the magnificent four-tier wedding cake. Seeing the couple surrounded by friends and family in such a grand setting reminded me why The Queens Hotel remains one of the most sought-after wedding venues in West Yorkshire.
